The following terms and conditions apply to online purchases only. If you require any further information please contact our team via email.

  • Payment

    1.1 We accept payment by credit card, debit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay and PayPal.
    1.2 All prices are inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate.
    1.3 Goods can only be delivered to the registered address of the credit card used for payment.
    1.4 Goods remain the property of Direct Specs Ltd until paid for in full.
    1.5 If you agreed to receive e-mails from us regarding special offers and other information relevant to your purchase, you can change your preference by sending an email to sales@directspecs.co.uk or following the instructions in any e-mail we have sent.

  • 2. Cancellation and Changes

    2.1 For goods made to your personal specification, orders cancelled before despatch may incur a charge for time and materials used in preparation of the order.

    2.2 Changes to your order made before despatch may incur an additional charge for time and materials used in preparation of the order.

    2.3 Spectacles are exempt from the 14 day cooling-off period that applies to the majority of consumer goods.

    2.4 You accept responsibility for entering your prescription details and providing a ‘PD’ measurement.

    2.5 You may cancel any order (except for prescription glasses) up to 7 working days after receipt and return the goods for a full refund but you must notify us in writing or by e-mail beforehand.

  • 3. Delivery

    3.1 Any delivery date given or implied is an estimate only. We do not guarantee to deliver by a specific date but if we have not delivered the product within 28 days of acceptance of order you may cancel the order and all money paid will be refunded.
    3.2 Spectacles can only be supplied to UK residents and delivered to a UK address.
    3.3 We send orders by recorded delivery and it is your responsibility to ensure that someone is able to sign for receipt.
    3.4 We advise you to inspect the goods upon delivery and to notify us immediately by sending an email to sales@directspecs.co.uk should they be in any way defective or inconsistent with your order. In any such event you should not use the product.
    3.5 Should it be necessary to return the goods you are liable for their safe-keeping until such time as they are delivered to us including any period in transit.

  • 4. Liability

    4.1 Direct Specs Ltd will not be liable for any visual problems, loss of any nature, accident or injury, as a result of incorrect or insufficient information supplied by you or the original prescriber.
    4.2 The purchaser accepts full responsibility for choosing a frame based on the information provided. Unless stated otherwise, frames are not supplied as ‘non-allergenic’.
    4.3 Upon receipt of your spectacles, the responsibility lies with the customer to check that the vision through the lenses meets their expectations for the purpose that they were ordered. i.e. reading glasses are for near vision tasks within arm’s length only, distance glasses provide clear distance vision and varifocals should provide a combination of distance and near vision. Do not wear your new glasses until you are confident that everything is okay.
    4.4 Direct Specs Ltd will not be liable for any fitting or adjustment charges incurred by getting adjustments through another optical business.

  • 5. Guarantee

    5.1 We offer a 14 day money back guarantee provided that the spectacles are returned in good condition along with the original packaging. You must obtain a returns number by sending an email to sales@directspecs.co.uk before claiming under this guarantee.
    5.2 All spectacles carry a 12 month guarantee against faulty materials and defective workmanship. To claim under this guarantee you must email details of the return to sales@directspecs.co.uk. Refunds will not be made for return postage.
    5.3 We reserve the right to repair or replace faulty goods at our discretion.
    5.4 Guarantees will not apply where goods have been subject to misuse, have not been used for the intended purpose or have not been used or cared for in accordance with any specific instructions issued with the product.
    5.5 Refunds will not be made if incorrect or insufficient prescription information has been entered by the customer at the time of order. We reserve the right to see a copy of the original prescription before making a refund under the 14-day money back guarantee.

  • 6. General

    6.1 We reserve the right to amend prices and specifications without notice.
    6.2 No employee or agent of Direct Specs Ltd has the right to vary these terms and conditions.
    6.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English Law.
    6.4 We can only supply lenses to a valid prescription that is less than two years old and we reserve the right to ask for a copy of that prescription.
    6.5 We cannot supply lenses to those who are under 16 or registered partially sighted.
    6.6 A binding contract is only entered into when we accept your order.
    6.7 Nothing in these terms and conditions shall effect your statutory rights

  • 7. Reglazing

    7.1 As frames (especially plastic frames) can become brittle and flawed with age, reglazing is to be carried out at the customer’s own risk and Direct Specs cannot be held liable for any breakages as a result of this.
    7.2 Reglazing cannot be carried out on the following products: Non-prescription sunglass frames, goggles, safety glasses or ready-readers.
    7.3 Each frame sent into us for reglazing will be examined by our trained lab technicians to ensure it is in an all-round serviceable condition. Any decision regarding the suitability of your frame for reglazing will be made at the sole discretion of Direct Specs.
    7.4 If your glasses appear unsuitable for reglaze on arrive to our office and you do not like/chose not to receive similar alternatives, we will let you know via email and send your glasses back to you as soon as possible using Royal Mail’s Signed-For postage. Your reglaze cost will be refunded to you within 7 days, however we will hold onto the £4.50 postage charge in order to cover the cost of sending your unsuitable frame back to you.
    7.5 If you decide you like one of our alternative frames and it is more expensive than the original cost of the reglaze, we will need to take the extra payment over the phone before we can continue with your order. Our customer care team will be in touch with you via email in order to arrange a suitable date and time to call you for payment. Your old frames will be held onto until your new ones are complete and then both pairs will be sent out to you at the same time.
    7.6 Please ensure you pay the correct amount of postage when sending your frames to us as any undelivered packages left at the Post Office due to insufficient postage paid will not be collected by us and will be returned to you by Royal Mail if you included a returns address. This agreement is between the customer (you) and Royal Mail, and is out of the control of Direct Specs.
    7.7 If you pay for your order online and we do not receive your glasses within 28 working days, we will refund your order automatically unless you have been in touch to indicate otherwise. If then you decide to send your glasses, payment will need to be re-taken over the phone.
